TDP leader Shilpa Mohan Reddy of Nandyala, Kurnool district quits TDP and joined YSR Congress party today in the presence of its president Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Lotus Pond residence.
Shilpa quits TDP for not allowing him to contest in the Nandyala bye-elections necessitated with the sudden death of Bhooma Nagireddy. However, he says that it is not the reason for leaving TDP. He left TDP because he is not comfortable in it, says Shilpa. But, then he said he is quite confident that Jagan Mohan Reddy will certainly allot the party ticket to him only for contesting the bye-elections. It proves that he quit TDP merely for not giving him party ticket to contest the bye-elections.
If Jagan Mohan Reddy also decides not to let anyone contest in the bye-elections following the tradition of leaving the seat to the family members of the deceased, then Shilpa will be in fix. Jagan Mohan Reddy is most likely wants his party to stay away from the bye-elections because once Bhooma Nagireddy was very trusted leader of him and he has strong bond with his family members. If so, Shilpa may be considered self-goal by jumping into YSRCP merely for party ticket.
